Erica was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She graduated from Louisiana State University with a B.S. in Business Management. She is in her final year of her Master's program in Industrial and Labor Relations, with a focus on Human Resources and Organizational Behavior. She hopes to get back to the South and the sun after graduation

Rodrigo Alatriste-Diaz is from Los Angeles. He graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 2005 with a B.A. in Sociology and Latin American Latino/a Studies.  Prior to graduate school he worked with several community organizations and NGOs in the Los Angeles area.  His general research interest is in US-Mexico migration and Latinos/as in the U.S.

Perla is a second year graduate student at the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs (CIPA) with a concentration in International Development. She is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where she studied Anthropology, Italian, and Business Administration.  Her hobbies include dancing (to anything that has a clave!), travelling, reading fumetti, hanging out with her mom, watching/playing soccer, learning Arabic, planning “things”, cooking fresh, local, organic food, river rafting, camping,  and doodling in class!

Christian is a second year graduate student in the Soil and Water Engineering Lab in BEE. He attended the University of Florida and received his BS in Agricultural and Biological Engineering in 2009. He is a part of the Ecuadorian culture by way of his parents who hail from the port city of Guayaquil. His interests are going to the beach, eating oranges, biking, playing soccer, dancing salsa and reading the bible.

Matt is a second year graduate student in the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs (CIPA). He received his BA in Communication in 2009 from the University of Delaware. He is of Cuban and Jewish descent and is originally from Wayne, NJ. His interests include traveling, sports, listening to music, and politics.

Natalie Yasmin is in her second year of graduate study in the Graduate School’s Ph.D. program in English Literature with a declared minor in Latino Studies. At present, her research interest centers on 20th Latina/o Literatures, the Transnational Narrative and Identity Politics. She intends to expand the scope of her work to include a study of the intersections, parallels and contrasts between Latina/o and Arab American Literatures. She is a graduate of the the City University of New York’s Hunter College, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Creative Writing, with a minor in Africana Puerto Rican Latino Studies, in 2009. Natalie is a former Ronald E. McNair Scholar and Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow.  She also served as both President of her undergraduate honor society, the Latino Honor Society (LHS), and Newsletter Editor-in-Chief for its publication the L.I.T.E. (Latino Inspiration Through Education). In addition to her academic scholarship, she also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of literary magazine Sixers Review. She is currently the Latino Studies Program's Graduate Student Representative for the Latina/o Graduate Student Coalition of Cornell University. Upon receipt of her degree, Natalie Yasmin intends to continue her work in academia as a Professor of Literature, with work in multicultural, Latina/o, transnational, post-colonial studies. With a penchant for travel, if she is not packing for or planning her next trip, Natalie Yasmin can be found whipping up culinary delights in her kitchen (usually while enjoying a glass of wine), watching "black and whites" and foreign-language films, lounging in the sunshine or a comfy armchair with a good book, or practicing her language skills.
